Beautiful location. Lovely to sit on the terrace by the river for breakfast and for a drink before the evening meal - listening to birdsong and occasionally seeing golden orioles, griffon vultures, choughs etc. Within easy reach of so many excellent places - El Gato cave just a stroll up the river and the local station a stroll the other way. Grazalema and Ronda easy by car. Philip was a mine of information about walks and gave us advice, maps and instructions. Those we did exceeded expectations. He booked us a day out with a brilliant birder, Peter Jones, which was great fun as well as showing superb birds and some lovely orchids and other wild flowers. Breakfast was good and Isa delightful. Evening meals of fine quality. Good house wines.
All was good including the weather - but be warned that there is a lot of rain at times through the year, so be prepared. My brother and I thought this was a great place to stay - hotel and area.

What a picturesque location for the hotel. The room was very spacious and comfortable. Philip made us feel right at home. The breakfasts and restaurant were very good. The proximity to Ronda was very convenient with the ability to stay out in the countryside.

nice rooms, nice and friendly staff, nice pool, good breakfast and nice location
rooms where not very clean (found quite a few some hair of another person in our (bath)room. Train track at the opposite of the hotel ... which was something I did not expect too see. However no disturbance of the noise ...

The hotel is located in an old mill building in a charming place on a river bank, it is very quite and peaceful and it is one of the best places we stayed in Andalusia. The swimming pool was already open in May and we enjoyed it a lot. Phillip, the hotel manager, is doing really great job! Thank you so much. As well as all the other staff who are very amicable and helpful. We are highly recommended to stay in this wonderful place. The dinner is good, do not expect gourmet. The hotel is located in the heart of pueblos blancos area so you get to beautiful villages very easily by car. It was a little bit difficult to find the place, we suggest to look for a funny private castle on Benaojan road and the hotel is just next to it.
Note that not all the rooms are identical so what you see in the website of the hotel is not necessarily the one you get.

The friendliness of the staff, we were also very surprised at the information the owner had on tourist sites and maps and hiking routes he had.
Although breakfast was good some sort of english breakfast would be advantaged. And the fact that dinner was served without chips or rice on the side.

Excellent location for the walks in the area. Not far to the train station for visits to Ronda or other places. Relaxing.

This is a very nicely restored hotel along the river. The owner is very friendly and helpful. He knows the local hiking trails well and had excellent suggestions for walking. Food in their restaurant is good. The setting is great, along the river, close to hiking and to Ronda.
Our room was was well appointed but dark with the only window being in the door. We liked this place, but left a day early because our neighbors were loud at night and the soundproofing between rooms was nonexistent: we could hear their conversation and them taking a bath at 1 am.

Lovely location. Friendly staff. Excellent outdoor pool.
Very hard mattress, probably the hardest I have slept on in 20 years and I like camping!
